DAVID ARCHULETA FANBLAST

Gosh! THIS is where they all park!

A FanBlast Media Team Tour Update

The Media Team, led by FanBlast founder Eric, has been working tirelessly throughout the past three weeks to film a documentary of David Archuleta’s American Idol concert tour experiences. Eric’s mission for this documentary is simple yet visionary: to let the fans tell their stories–to enable David to experience this phenomenal summer through the eyes of his loving supporters.

The Tour Documentary project has been placed on temporary hold as Eric flew home to Los Angeles to care for his mother, who is ill. As you may know, Eric’s mother Olivia was the inspiration for the genesis of FanBlast. The gift of David Archuleta’s music–a gift that heals and comforts and inspires–was the catalyst that re-connected Eric and his mother, and FanBlast was created as a tribute to her. Eric asks for your patience as he stops touring for a few days to assist his mother back home. He also asks for your prayers for her.

FanBlast’s Phil and Cody are also home and getting some much-needed rest and relaxation. Don’t worry, they are doing fine.

The FanBlast Shout-outs will be on temporary hold until further notice, but fans are still encouraged to be present to meet the buses around 1pm at each venue to greet David and get pictures and autographs. Bring your signs!

How you can help participate in the tour documentary project

Shout-Out Coordinators Needed!

Are you willing to organize the shout-out crew for the concert(s) you are attending? Please contact Leticia at fbefamily@gmail.com and let her know that you would like to volunteer.

Host Families Needed!

The FanBlast Media Team needs lodging! Do you live in a city that the American Idol Concert will visit? Could you possibly provide lodging for 2 or 3 people for one night? Please let us know by contacting fbefamily@gmail.com.

Afternoon Archuleta Fix: New Video Blog; After-Party Pictures and Story

Most of you have already seen David Archuleta’s new video blog on his MySpace; if you haven’t, watch now!  But be sure to leave a comment for him on his MySpace page.

FanBlast fan Aubri (Auburrito) pictures and story (David and Lupe in the first one!  Wow, this Utah after-party was crowded!):

Aubri’s story: At around 10:30 a.m., we left to head over to the E Center.  Suprisingly, we were able to get into the very front of the crowd.  We waited for quite a while, and then the Fanblast crew came to do the shoutout.  Everyone was completely wild and we were screaming and jumping up and down.  Fox 13 News also came to film us being our crazy selves.  David started on the other side, and I was snapping pictures like crazy because I didn’t want to miss anything.  So anyways, after everyone else had given me an autograph, I ran all the way around the venue because I had to get going and David was still on the other side.  I got over to the other side just in time to have David sign my picture of him.  I told him “Thank you so much David”.  And he’s like “Oh no, thank YOU”.  He is so humble, and I don’t think he has the muscles in his face to frown.  His relaxed face is still smiling.  It is pretty incredible.  Then I left the venue to head over to the picnic.  I got to the picnic and talked to a bunch of people from here (who were all way nice and very awesome).  I took a picture with Lupe, and picked up my Fanblast t-shirt .   I did get a Fanblast water bottle and a pin too, but only because I wouldn’t leave my dad alone.  The time passed by really fast, and it was already 4:00.  We left the picnic to go to our hotel and get everything ready.  We then drove over to the venue for the concert.

Read the rest of Aubri’s story by clicking “Read More.”

Good luck tonight in St. Louis tonight, David!  If you are attending the St. Louis concert, send me your pictures and stories at fanblastjenny@gmail.com.

Lend your voting skills to David Archuleta’s family friend, Jon Cruz of Super CR3W

UPDATE: voting is over - check in next week to see if Super CR3W is still competing!
Back in the day, David and Jon Cruz met on Star Search - David competed in a singing division while Jon Cruz competed in a dancing division. David as we know is a talented singer and Jon is talented B-Boy (hip-hop, basically) dancer who is the only contestant to be a 3 time champion on Star Search.

If you’ve seen the video of David singing “Happy Birthday” - the person he is actually singing to is Jon Cruz’s (nameless) mom.

Now Jon Cruz is a member of Super CR3W on Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew Season 2. You’re already experts at voting - now it’s time to put your expertise to use and support David Archuleta’s family friend!
Voting also serves as a thank you to “robertrigler” (Jon Cruz’s father) who has shared some of his videos of David and his music with us - http://www.youtube.com/user/robertrigler

ABDC is on MTV Thursday nights at 10 PM PST so make sure to vote for Super CR3W at the end of the one hour show! Fill your voting void - although similar to American Idol, America’s Best Dance Crew voting differs in a few ways. Voting times are lengthened, 10 PM PST - 3 AM PST. There are 5 crews left as of July 17th so it’s crunch time! After the top 2 performances, voting times are extended for multiple days. Calls from land lines are toll free. Dial 1-877-RJ-CREW-#. You can also text message Super CR3W’s number to 22444 to submit your vote. Last on the list is online voting at dancecrew.mtv.com.

Super CR3W was in the bottom two on July 17th, 2008 along with A.S.I.I.D. but the judges saved them after an amazing Janet Jackson themed performance. (Another difference - the bottom two crews “dance off” and the judges save the crew with the better performance.) Since the judges decided to keep them after another great performance, we too should keep them in and bring in the title of America’s Best Dance Crew and the $100,000 grand prize!

If you’re not burnt out on voting, please help support the Archuleta’s family friend, Jon Cruz, a member of Super CR3W on Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew which is on MTV Thursday nights at 10 PM PST. The Cruz family (and the rest of the dance crew and their families) would appreciate the support!

Check out Jon Cruz’s (a.k.a. DO-KNOCK) dancing (and singing) videos on YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/user/DOKNOCK

Archie “Pay it Forward” Project

Message to David Archuleta fans from Serena!

Hey guys okay, remember the movie “Pay it Forward,” it’s kind of old, it had Hallie Jo Osmond in it, anyway it was on the other day and it really got me thinking. We all (including me) talk about what all David has done for us, inspired us, gave us hope, got us writing music, made us feel again, everything, and although we say it over and over how much it means to us I started thinking about how I could ever repay him. Well, I have been lucky enough to have been a part of some amazing projects and gifts involving David, whether it was raising money for the family through a marathon, donating to fanblast, helping out with group gifts, signing group thank yous and scrapebooks, and lets not forget the “David is My Hero,” book, that is really what did it for me, it took me a week to write my story but once I did it felt so amazing. But I still can’t help but feel that there is something more that we could do. I know how blessed I am now and yes a lot of it has to do with David and the message of hope and inspiration that so many of us feel through him and his music, I want to share that feeling with others, so I came up with the Archie “pay it forward” Project. Basically it is simple, David has helped all of us in one way or another by touching all of our lives in a positive way so in return we should do the same.

Today I went to a local shelter here and volunteered, I helped serve lunch and just sat and talked with some of the people there. It was a little overwhelming, it makes me sad to think that there are so many people out there that don’t have anything, not even a hot meal. It reminded me so much of when David sang “Another Day In Paradise,” I spoke with the lady in charge and she told me that they have been short on volunteers this year and it has been difficult for them, so I signed up to go 3 times a week.

Now you don’t necessarily have to go out and volunteer, that is only one option. There is plenty you can do.

  • Volunteer at a local shelter or your church may have a group you can help with.
  • Donate to the Goodwill or Red Cross or another organization in your area(they always need clothes or can goods)
  • Visit a retirement center in your area, some of the people there never have visitors, they just want someone to talk to sometimes.
  • Visits patients in your local hospital.

There are tons of things you can do, it may be as simple as helping out a friend in need, or just making someone smile.

So I challenge everyone to “pay it forward” in some way and post it here. Now for us, I still feel really blessed so I think we can also help out each other. I consider the people I have met here at fanblast as friends, some even as family…my e-family, lol. So I want to help put a smile on some of their faces, don’t you. I have seen several posts here from people that either want a fanblast tour t-shirt or want to go to a concert but can’t afford it. So I am willing to purchase 5 fanblast tour t-shirts and give them to 5 fellow Archies/Arch Angels/fanblast members. Just send me a message to this FanBlast Forum thread if you want one (4 shirts now, I just gave one to a lucky fan…Yay). Also, new, as soon as the water bottles go on sale on the site I will buy 10 and forward to lucky fans! Now just message me if you want one, it is a first come first serve, so not everyone who messages me will get one, but hey you might, so go for it! Plus maybe some other fan will join in on the “pay it forward.”

Update: ok well I have actually only given out one t-shirt so far, but it was so worth it. She is a fanblaster but I won’t say her name, anyway April gave her the shirt in Utah but that’s not the best part, she got meet and greet passes and got David to sign it…..YAY I am sooo happy for her!

New idea from fanblaster Tara: gift your extra tickets. So many of us have bought tickets then went back and bought more tickets so if you have extra tickets consider gifting them to a fellow fan who might not be able to attend a concert otherwise. This is a great idea, thanks Tara!

David is an amazing human being, we have all seen his kindness, his huge heart, that warming smile and that beautiful voice that touches your soul. He has given so much to us and I think we can now give back to the world as a small thank you to him.

Remember my friends, David sang the words; “Imagine all the people, sharing for the world. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. Take my hand and join us, and the world will live as one.”
So please join me and be a part of the Archie “Pay it Forward” Project! –Serena

Issues Making a Video Blog

Hey everyone. I tried to put up a video blog from last night while I was in the dressing room at the E center in Utah, but with my luck I can’t get it uploaded. I’m going to try and put it up later anyway because it was an exciting moment, but sorry everyone for not being able to get that up. The shows were great though! I was so happy to be home and see everyone there, and how much support the crowd gave to everyone.

I’m in LA for the time we have off right now and have had a couple of meetings involving the album, which were fun. Our next show is in St. Louis, and I’m pretty sure I’ve never been there so it should be fun to see the big arch there haha. Anyway I’ll try to get that blog up, even though it’s not fancy or anything haha, so you guys can at least see it soon.

Oh one more thing. On So You Think You Can Dance a couple named katie and will danced to my performance Imagine. I thought that was way cool! Haha. They did awesome. I feel… Like honored lol. Ok sorry i’m out of it right now so have a good night everyone.

David Archuleta Back in the Studio Today; A Poll for the Fangirls

David Archuleta is reportedly back in LA today getting some studio time to work on his upcoming debut album.  Amazon is still advertising a release date of November 4th (go pre-order it now!  David is #30 on the Bestsellers list).

So what happens in a recording studio, anyway?  ODD’ers need to know these things.  According to Wikipedia, a recording studio consists of the actual studio where the vocalists and instrumentalists perform (there may be a separate vocal booth for the vocalist) and the control room, which contains the equipment that will record, route, and manipulate the sound.  There may also be isolation booths for louder instruments such as electric guitars and drums.  This video of Celine Dion in the recording studio sheds some light on the process, and, as an added bonus, songwriter and producer Dave Hodges (who is listed as a co-writer of “Crush”–you know, the song rumored to be David’s first single) wrote this song and speaks about that experience.  Celine knows how to emote a song, that’s for sure…and she does a fantastic job of describing how important it is to FEEL the song in order to be able to deliver it with authenticity.  No wonder David admires her.

This video is also worth viewing to see first-hand how the process of creating a song unfolds in the studio.  Rob Thomas and John Mayer collaborate to record “StreetcornerSymphony,” and it’s surprising to observe how they communicate their ideas to each other with guitar licks and vocal runs rather than detailed technical songwriting jargon.  Just two guys jamming, basically, but the result is so polished.

David mentioned in the Good Day Utah interview that he has recorded many songs and does not know yet which ones will be used; maybe even a few of the songs he has written will appear on his album…

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Warning!  I’m about to abruptly shift gears here.  Everything from this point on can only be categorized as “giddy fangirl ODD’ing.”  You have been warned.

We are worn out.  It’s good to have today off so we can rejuvenate ourselves for St. Louis on Friday!  We need something frivolous and fangirly and gushy and screamyto do until then.  How about a poll?  For this one, you will need to study these candid shots taken by fans at autograph signings (take a deep breath, here they come…you can click on them to enlarge them; I highly recommend this…):

                              #1                                                                  #2

                                #3                                                  #4

                                  #5                                                           #6

*Note: the numbers appear below the accompanying picture

*Many more fan stories and pictures will be posted this afternoon!

Imagine…the Dance!

David Archuleta brought the world to tears the first time he sang his rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine. It was what made him the American Idol front runner and what brought all of his fans together for months of ODD heart failure. For the first time on live television, we got to witness Imagine turned into a beautiful pas de deux dance choreographed by the famous Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson. It was a breathtaking performance by So You Think You Can Dance contestants Katee and Will who did a great job at representing David’s music.

SYTYCD judge Mary Murphy commented on the choice of music, calling it a “beautiful song”.

Rumors from our FanBlast Becky even say that the choreographer, Desmond Richardson, watched David’s performance during the finale and chose then to “put it in his back pocket”.

I got chills when when “Imagine, David Archuleta” came up on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. We are so proud of you David!

HERE IS A LINK to the performance!! Thank you mjsbigblog!!!!! You can also now see it here:

FanBlast fan Lisajo and friends made a great banner for the shout-out in Utah on July 15!

FanBlast fan Sarah with funny stories and videos from Portland:

While he was signing stuff for the girl next to me (who was dying, it was hilarious), this other girl yells out, “David! You are so built!”And he’s like, “What?” and then he goes, “No, I have to get toned like Jason.” and he starts laughing (he laughs after everything he says, it’s adorable). And then Jason looks up and goes, “Huh?” and David’s like, “Oh, they think I’m buff.”

Also, he walked over to this girl and she’s like, “Can I have a picture with you?” and he just stood there and looked at her for a while, and then she’s like, “Or are you not allowed…” and he goes, “Oh! I’m sorry! I totally just spaced!”  Someone held out this picture for one of the Idols to sign, I think it was Jason, and he’s like, “Oo, that’s a good picture.” and David starts singing, “They’re beautiful!” (see video down below, I got footage of it!).

After the concert, out by the buses, Chikezie runs up and gives David this hug while he’s signing something, and David’s like, “What are you doing…?” and Chikezie goes, in this really high pitched voice, “Oh my gosh! It’s David ARCHULETA!” and David got all embarrassed and did his little laugh thing. Syesha was over there too, so she goes up to Chikezie and David and squeals, “It’s David Archuleta!” and then Chikezie does this really weird screamy, fake-fainting thing and is like, “OH MY GOSH!!” and they both hopped around David squealing. And David was like, “Aheh…” And Carly comes over and is like, “ARCHULETA I LOVE YOU!” and squealed with them too. They were totally freaking David out, and he just stood there like, “?”

Video of David singing spontaneously; a fan requests David’s chapstick (followed by a somewhat nervous laugh from David, who hastily returns it to his pocket).

FanBlast fan Alice met David and gave him an origami necklace made of cranes and messages from David’s fans:

FanBlast fan Alyssa met David before the concert:

I got to the E-center around 10am. Around 1:30 off in the distance I could see Carly, David Cook and David Archuleta walking toward the gate and my heart started to pound and I started to scream lol. They came out and Archie decided he would start on our side! I had no idea what I was going to say and just stood there taking pictures of him since he looked so adorable. He finally got over to me and I really had no idea what to do so I introduced myself and asked him to sign my shirt! He gladly did then I asked him if he would sign my phone he said yes (thankfully). Then I asked for a picture with him and he started laughing and said ‘Sure I’d be glad to have a picture with you!’ And Then came the moment I was scared of. I really wanted a hug from him but I didnt want to ask so I shyly asked him if I could have a hug and he was just so glad to give me a hug and I was so thrilled. Then we started talking as he signed other peoples things around me and he is just such a genuine nice person and you can really tell that he cares about his fans. So anyways we talked for quite awhile since there were a lot of people. Then he said that he was sorry but he had to go and move on to the fans really far down from us and we told him it was alright and he gave me ANOTHER hug!!!! I about died! So he moved on to everyone else then I got to meet Jeff! He is a really nice guy. Then it was time for the concert. I was on the 27th row on the floor and I could hear everything that he was saying and hear every note he sang. I have never heard someone sing like that before in my life! He was so amazing and he was so emotional. I had the best day of my life yesterday and hope to always remember it forever.

FanBlast fan Maggie (from the Golden Archies) attended the Shout-Out on Monday:

It was an incredible high from the moment the bus turned that corner. All the idols were so gracious, but David A. was especially caring. I had the unexpected opportunity to chat for several minutes with Jeff and was so impressed with him and his obvious adoration for his son. I gave him a bag of cards and a shirt from our Golden Archies. The shirt has our logo on it and the back was signed by our ‘charter members’. He pulled out the card I made (of their dog Teddy as an American Idol LOL) and just raved about it. Made me feel great. He looked at the shirt and was visibly moved as tears welled in his eyes and he said “I’m sorry, sometimes it’s just too much (more than I can handle)… Thank you…it’s just overwhelming”. He was very warm, softspoken and although you could tell he was trying to stay low key… he seems to have almost as many fans as David! LOL I know I am certainly one of them, now. Another highlight of my day was meeting Eric, Cody, Phil E and the rest of the FanBlast gang! And…GOSH! there’s still tomorrow…. I haven’t even BEEN to the concert yet!

I made a sign that said “David Archuleta is the whole enchilada” (Thanks Val for the idea) …and we were off.  I also wore one of my “Honduras” shirts.  It was in honor of Archie and his mother Lupe who of course is from Honduras.  I used to live there when I served a mission for my church there…so I have a special place in my hearts for Honduran people.  During intermission I was waiting in line to get some water and my husband and I spotted Lupe! I called out to her and asked if I could have my picture taken with her.  She remembered me from another time we had met (my husband too!) and when she saw my Honduras shirt, she playfully bowed down towards me and gave me the biggest hug and told me I was a sweetheart.  I told her that I wore it just for her and David.  We got our picture taken together and she had to rush off.  I loved that she was wearing her Fan Blast shirt! It was so great to see her.  Fast forward to after the intermission.  When Syesha was done singing—we all just went CRAZY.  Syesha is sweet—but we were kind of like “Alright already! Bring out Archie!!” Literally, my ears are still buzzing.  It was so loud.  At one point during David’s set, he got emotional and started to cry.  It was a sweet moment for everyone there.  I even got choked up and I’m not a cryer! David’s voice is like butter.  It filled every single crevice in the building.  It was like Heaven on earth.  I have never heard such a soothing sound in all my life.  He was so gracious and warm to everyone—and we tried to return the favor by screaming until our throats hurt.  What a night!! I only wish I could have met David!

FanBlast fan Jon’s story and pictures from the Shout-Out in Utah yesterday!

I got to the venue with my friend (she’s a fan, but she’s a little more normal about David than I am. There were a lot of people there, but MUCH LESS than I was expecting. As expected about 98% of everyone there is there for David Archuleta which was a little intimidating. I met a few posters. I saw a lot of people with fan blast shirst but a lot of them said they just visit fan blast, they never chat or post. There was also the CUTEST family of Arch Angels ever. A mom from California dressed up her five kids (I think, it might have been six) as angels and they all had signs! So adorable, I had to get a picture of them.  So at about 12:30, a bus pulls up. Everyone’s screaming and the windows are tiny, we can’t really see inside. Shortly after, the fan blast crew shows up and we film the shout outs. Carly and David Archuleta were walking very close together. Carly was behind David, but of course passed him up because EVERYONE wanted a picture with David. Then he signs my shirt and is all “this is an EFY shirt” and I’m like “yep, we went together this year” and he’s all “REALLY??” I’m not sure if he believed me or not. But he asked where I was from and was very nice and he said “thanks for reminding me, I forgot which year I went!” Then he started walking off! I was thinking “NOOOOOOO” I didn’t want to be annoying but I said, “wait can we get a picture with you?” at this point he was talking to someone else. Then we made eye-contact and I held up my camera and he gasped and was like “ohhh sorry!” and we took a picture, so cool. He was very gracious and unlike some contestants, really wanted to talk to everyone, even if it was just for one second. It was so nice. I know we talked a bit more but it’s all a blur.

DAVID SINGS “CRAZY” AND “WAITING ON THE WORLD TO CHANGE” ON GOOD DAY UTAH! Video and MP3…

Good Day Utah: DAVID ARCHULETA SANG “CRAZY” ON GOOD DAY UTAH!  WOW!  IT WAS BRILLIANT! Watch the full version below…

MyFox Utah link: watch “Crazy” and his interview here: very high-quality video.

YouTube link for “Waiting on the World to Change”

MP3 of Crazy: Link to the full version of “Crazy” mp3 on mediafire

MP3 of Crazy, high quality: Crazy (high-quality enhanced version)

MP3 of WOTWTC: Link to the edited version of “Waiting on the World to Change” (credit to rodze)  I don’t know, though: I kind of liked the flub…

David also did the weather  (very funny, referring to the rain on the radar as “that green stuff”). He also sang “Waiting on the World to Change”.  David skipped ahead in the song a bit but it still was incredible, of course.

Tickets are still available for tonight’s concert! I just did a quick search on Ticketmaster and found a ticket on the floor 7 rows back from the stage for $65.50.  WOW!  Ticketmaster will start selling off PRIME seats today.  I wish I lived close enough to drive to Utah!

KSL 5/Studio 5: David is scheduled to appear tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1pm EST (11am Mountain) to sing “Crazy,” which he apparently knew nothing about as of a few days ago.  So we shall be patient and see what transpires.  C’mon, American Idol!  Let David in the loop…

Don’t forget to send me your pictures, stories, and videos from the Utah concerts!  fanblastjenny@gmail.com.

Tacoma fan stories, videos, and pictures

10-minute video of David signing autgraphs in Tacoma.  He doesn’t say much since he was on vocal rest, but be sure to watch in high-quality; there a lot of close-ups (thanks for the link, Rose!).  (And did I mention lots of screaming, and “David, David, David!  Over here!  Over here!”)

Portland fan story from 15-year-old Cristina:

So the day I met David Archuleta was literally THE BEST DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. That was my dream and it came true on July 11th, 2008. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Seriously, David is just the most sweetest, nicest guy, I’ve ever met. And not 2 mention he is EXTREMELY HOTT, but hes so short, i was happy that i wasn’t taller than him though… lol. So first, i asked him 2 sign a few things for me… he ACTUALLY signed my purse!!! It was amazing… I could not believe i was actually talking 2 him…. It was so cute though how he reacted when i asked him 2 sign my purse he kinda laughed and was like… “Oh yeah, Of Course.” It was so cute. He said that a lot. LOL. After that we talked a while, i told him how i thought he was amazing, and a true inspiration, and a true gift 4rm God, and how much i loved him. And he just looked at me and smiled his sweet GORGEOUS shy smile, and said “Awwww… thanks. That means a lot 2 me” and then finally at the end i asked him for a hug and he said “Yeah, of course” That was the most amazing hug, it was just so warm, loving, and sweet. I can still feel his warm, loving embrace right now. I DID NOT want 2 let go of him, i just wanted 2 stay in that moment and just NEVER EVER let go… but i had to… *sad* and then i just told him again that i loved him, and thanks 4 everything, it meant a lot 2 me….. and so on, and then finally i said bye….. then he said thanks again, and smiled and everything, and then said bye 2 me… again… it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING…. So there you have it……  that’s how my encounter w/ David Archuleta went….. it was INCREDIBLE…. it was the *BEST* day of my life…. The day I met my hero…. my inspiration…. my true love <3… the day I met David Archuleta…… :D

Yesterdays updates

Hey everyone. We’re about to leave Portland and head to Seattle/Tacoma area today. It’s been a lot of fun here. We had a day off here, so Jason and I just wandered around downtown haha. We went to the mall, the farmer’s market, that huge Powell’s bookstore, and took the streetcars to 23rd street to eat. Portland’s a great city, and it’s been nice weather too haha. I’m excited to see what other cities are like, even though we won’t have too much time to do things.

So I’m going to try and figure out how to do another video blog on this computer. I’ve had issues haha, but I’m determined to make another one. So hopefully that’ll be coming very soon. But I feel lame only blogging by typing haha. Anyway, the song I’ve been really into lately is the live version of Free Fallin’ that John Mayer does. If you haven’t listened to it yet you should check it out. It’s awesome. I’m also really excited that we’re going to Utah soon! I can’t wait for that haha. Well I have to head out to the bus, so talk to you guys later.

Question: how on earth did David Archuleta and Jason Castro wander around Seattle/Tacoma without getting mobbed?  Enjoy it now, David…

Tacoma: still waiting on pictures and stories!

Portland:

FanBlast fans Jamil and Emily: (the first picture is Jamil with David)

It was SUCH an amazing experience meeting him. As he was nearing me in line (the first time, in the afternoon) I noticed he was left-handed (I didn’t previously know), so after saying Hi, one of the first things I told him was that I’m left-handed too! It was very exciting. Haha. Then I asked him to sign two of my pictures, which he did very graciously. While he was signing, I asked him how he was, and he said he was doing well. And then I asked for a picture with him, and he of course willingly agreed. J And then he had to move on down the line.. But when he came out after the show, I had him sign my ticket, and I asked him where he buys his clothes! He said “Ohh.. Lots of places” in his signature bashful voice. So I asked him what his favorite store was, and his reply was “Oh, I don’t know.. I like Buckle.” And I do too, so I told him that. Haha. That’s pretty much it. But it was the highlight of my year!

FanBlast fan Mare, who was gracious enough to share her pictures and stories with us, feels badly that she was the fan who asked David if the name of his first single is “Crush,” a question which generated much discussion.  Mare explains: “When first meeting David, several videos before the now infamous one, all I could get out was “we love you David” and “you have beautiful eyes” and “you’re just as beautiful on the inside as you are onutside” and fan girly stuff like that! Then I thought, if he comes directly in front of me, what would be a good question to ask him that would make him and his fans smile. Boy, was I wrong!! I honestly had NO idea that the name of his first single was not public knowledge. I heard it from some other fans last week and assumed that it had been released publicly. I NEVER would have EVER done anything to put David on the spot or make him feel uncomfortable, EVER!!”  We love you, Mare!  Let’s just forget about the whole thing; I’m sure David has already.

Tacoma Videos and More Portland Pictures (David Goes to New Heights for His Fans)

David Archuleta singing “Apologize” in Tacoma

Tacoma videos

Apologize I don’t know about you, but when I hear One Republic’s “Apologize” on the radio, I have to turn it off.  It just can’t hold a candle to this!

Apologize (this one isn’t complete, but it’s shot from much closer range; good video quality!)

Stand By Me (partial)

A great story from a fan who got to spend a lot of time with David at the after-party last night (read it here on the AI forums). Among other topics, David was surprised that he is apparently singing “Crazy” on Tuesday (he didn’t know this!) and he was stunned that he is #4 on Amazon’s Bestsellers List!  (Thanks for the link, intouch.)
