TheSpectrum.com ran another article on David’s upcoming stop in Utah! It’s 2 pages long, so be sure to stop by and read it all.
David Archuleta, runner-up in “American Idol’s” 2008 season, is playing the Burns Arena in St. George on Tuesday and local fans are ecstatic.
“I’m so excited!” says McKayla Hummel, 12, of St. George. “My seats are on the third row on the floor – so pretty exciting.”
Also sitting on the third row is Megan Clarke, 14, of Santa Clara.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him,” Clarke says. “I really, really want to touch his hand when he’s singing, ‘Touch My Hand.’”
His fans are not limited to teen and pre-teen girls.
Ann Mitchell describes herself as a “silly” 60-year-old woman who “loves David Archuleta!”
“I was so excited to have him come to St. George that I started to jump up and down,” Mitchell says. “I have always thought he is ‘The American Idol.’”
Hummel has already had her own special experience with the 18-year-old singer from Murray.
97.1 ZHT is running a contest and they’re also offering to upgrade your seats! Good luck to those who enter!

One more article before those videos: KPVI News out of Pocatello, Idaho printed an article on David as well!
Friday, Utah native and former American Idol contestant, David Archuleta kicks off his first of two east Idaho concerts.
Throngs of screaming David Archuleta fans lined up at the Civic Auditorium, trying to get the best seats to see their favorite American Idol castoff. The very first people in line traveled half way across the world from Japan, to Idaho Falls.
Traveled From Japan: “Just for David’s concert.”
Those first in line waited close to 14 hours, but say it’s definitely worth it
Stood in Line since 11 a.m.:”It’s so fun to interact with the fans and this is a once in a life time experience.”
Some even skipped class to jockey for the best possible position in line.
“It’s David Archuleta day… it should be like a holiday!”
And whether you’re first in line, or the very last it doesn’t really matter just for a glimpse of an American Idol.
OK, so firstly…*breathes* Holy Moses. The clips are hit-you-over-the-head HQ. Daaang! Thanks to genevievewang on YouTube for these incredible videos.

HI ALL, I’M SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW I HAVE TO VENT.HAS ANYONE NOTICED ON YOU TUBE THEY’RE PULLING DAVID’S VIDEOS WITH HIGH VIEWER COUNTSOR SAYING THIS VIDEO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THIS INCLUDES CRUSH AN D A LITTLE TO NOT OVER YOU. THIS IS NOT GOOD. SOMEONE FROM MALASATIA, SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING SAID SHE IS NOT ABLE TO VIEW ANY OF DAVID’S VIDEOS ANYMORE. CAN SOMEONE CONTACT HIS MANAGEMENT OR RECORD LABEL AND TELL THEM WHAT’S GOING ON. COOK’S MANAGEMENT OR RECORD LABEL IS TRYING TO SQUASH OUR DAVID’S POPULARITY BY KEEPING HIS VIEW COUNTS DOWN OR DISCOURAGING PEOPLE FROM WATCHING HIS VIDEOS BY SAYING THEIR NOT AVAILABLE. THANKS FOR LETTING ME VENT BUT SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. LOVE TO ALL ELAine

#5 ELAINE, even my local radio station had stopped playing David’s Crush. It is the radio station that Randy Jackson has a Hitlist countdown. It is so frustrating that they were ignoring my request to play Crush or ALTNOY. When I tuned in this morning RJ was talking about DC’s success in AI. It really hurts when people are so unfair. I’m frustrated too!!!

Whoa, let’s please stop blaming David Cook, his management and his record label for everything. I doubt they have anything to do with whatever goes on at Youtube. Videos come down all the time. There are plenty more of them out there. Hundreds, in fact. As for stations not playing Crush, it has moved from the top 40 to the adult contemporary stations. I hear it all the time. And as for “A Little Too Not Over You,” it’s making a slow and steady climb. Z100 just added it, so others will pick it up in time. Carrie Underwood’s biggest hit is “Before He Cheats,” and it took 38 weeks on the charts before Z100 picked it up as a crossover song. David’s doing fine, much better than some sceptics thought he would. And thanks for letting ME vent this time, haha!

#5 Elaine:
I’m not sure what versions of ALTNOY and “Crush” you are referring to, but the ones with the highest number of viewings are still up. These are the ones listed under David’s account at YouTube (“theofficialarchuleta”), and are the versions we should be watching anyway. The official “Crush” posted by Jive/19 Entertainment has close to 15 1/2 million viewings, and both of the official versions of ALTNOY are still up.
I agree with Jeffrey that we should not attach any blame to Cook or his management team. If anyone asked for other versions to be taken down, it was probably Jive.

The reverse is true where I live on the West Coast. My Top 40 station is still playing “Crush,” and if they play Cook’s song at all it is very infrequently. In fact, they just removed “Light On” from their Mediabase online request list. I think it all boils down to which artists receive the most requests.

#7&8, I still don’t undertstand that. So, it means I have to stop requesting Crush from this station bec it was moved to AC music stations(which I don’t know which music station is playing Adult contemporary songs). But, why is it that they are playing songs that are even older than Crush, like Jordin, Lewis,Cook, Spears, etc….
Katheryn | March 23, 2009 at 12:05 am
#9 lyn:
Please don’t stop requesting “Crush”! There are four ways to request: calls to the station, using the Mediabase online request list, text messaging, and emailing. Perhaps you can enlist friends and family to help you with requests using the method or methods they feel most comfortable with.
Music directors and station managers no doubt have personal preferences that factor into what songs get played. However, they will not ignore what their listeners want so long as requests are made judiciously and politely.

those videos were soooo good!
i love when david sings in spanish :)
