Denise sent in the HQ version of the duet released yesterday on Radio Disney!

Adriana remixed it and put David’s solo in it!

Don’t forget to watch Hannah Montana on Disney tonight at 8 PM Eastern!  It’s David’s episode tonight!

Thaks for the HQ version. It definitely sounds better than the version we heard when the single was debut on Disney yesterday. You can hear more of David on this one the other one. Keep requesting this and TOUCH MY HAND on the Disney radio station, so we can get David to the No. 1 spot once again. I will download this new duet, only if I hear more of David’s incredible voice than just Miley. As an older fan that supports David Archuleta I have no interest in hearing more Miley than David.

pete | May 3, 2009 at 12:21 pm

I want to purchase the remix version. The one that Disney released makes David a backup singer and not a partner in a duet. Does anyone think that either Miley or her people forced Disney to change the recording because David was getting more p? I hope not but lets see if they adjust the recording to put David back into it on an equal basis.

lyn | May 3, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Yah.. what happened to this song??? Why does it had sounds different? Is Disney version official? If that version will be the one to be released in itunes then David is just the back up singer. I can’t call it DUET!!!

Katheryn | May 3, 2009 at 1:26 pm

My advice to Disney is that they should add David’s solo back into the “official” version of the song. Let’s face it, that version is much better. If Disney want to appeal more to D.A. fans, then they should definitely do this.

Becca | May 3, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Oh my goodness. The remix is more of David. The other one does sound like he’s only doing back up vocals! If it’s a DUET, it should be a DUET! Which one is being released?

Katheryn | May 3, 2009 at 1:33 pm

MUSIQTONE:

Everyone, be sure to check out Musiqtone after 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday just in case they have added TMH into the video lineup. The site currently says they will be adding 6 new videos. Remember that their server resets every 12 – 24 hours, which means you can vote at least once a day. (They are currently allowing 75 votes per voting session. Get in all 75 of your votes for David as quickly as possible so you can cast another set of 75 votes once the server resets. If you have not used up all 75 votes, then the site only allows you to cast your remaining votes out of the 75, and you have to wait for the server to reset again before you can cast your next set of 75 votes.)

WEB SEARCHES:

Keep on doing your web searches for “David Archuleta” at MSN, Google, AOL, Yahoo, etc. David has climbed back up from 48 to 16 on MSN’s xRank. Let’s get him back to #1!

Katheryn | May 3, 2009 at 2:11 pm

I sent Radio Disney the following email:

Thank you, Radio Disney for premiering the David Archuleta/Miley Cyrus duet “I Wanna Know You.” Many David Archuleta fan sites have noted that the version released by Radio Disney on Saturday, May 2nd is not the same as what is featured on the Hannah Montana show, in that David’s solo part has been left out. In other words, David Archuleta has been turned into a backup singer on the radio version. As fans, we are wondering what happened to the so-called “duet” on the version played by Radio Disney.

We are hoping that the version released for sale will include David Archuleta’s solo. I guarantee you, you’ll make David Archuleta fans everywhere happy, and you’ll secure more sales of the song!

Thank you for your consideration.

Completely off-topic, but here’s an interview on Malaysian TV (Melodi TV3), in which David answers questions about various rumors swirling around him, including the rumor that he is gay. He answers directly without offence, but makes it clear he’s not by saying, “My interest is in girls.” Although it was completely uncalled for that the interviewer should ask such a question, I’m actually kind of glad he did. Will it stop the stupid rumors? Probably not, but at least David himself will have shot them down.

THANKS Katheryn!!! I’ve been posting comments here that I like Miley as much as my daughter does. In fact I am more excited about this duet than my daughter, but… this Disney version makes me MAD and very disappointed. I’m not even excited to watch the show anymore tonight. Maybe, I’ll just let my daughter watch it herself.

Melissa | May 3, 2009 at 4:50 pm

Please don’t make Disney mad. We love David but we are really sounding like over zealous fanatics. At least they play David’s other songs and put them on their countdown. Nobody else is at this point, except XM 20 on 20. Some people think that DJS got mad with our overrequesting. Don’t hurt David by constantly complaining. it will not go over big. Just go buy 10 copies of the song no matter what when it comes out on ITUNES.

Katheryn | May 3, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Melissa: I do intend on downloading a copy of the song, since at least a portion of the royalties will go to David. I don’t think, however, I was out of line in my email to Disney. I believe the tone of it was respectful, but it did get across the point that all the fan sites I have visited so far in the past couple of days have brought up (including this one), and that was in noting the difference between the 2 versions. I think it’s fair to say that Disney pulled a “bait and switch” on us. As customers, so to speak, I think they were less than honest with us.

supergrandjudie | May 3, 2009 at 5:24 pm

Katheryn #12- Thank you for that video link. David is so sincere and I’m so glad he stood up for himself. I just love his demeanor so much!

joyanne | May 3, 2009 at 7:21 pm

katheryn, i think your letter was fine and as a fan you have the right to voice out your opinion. i just hope it will not affect how disney supports david’s career.

i agree on how good david was in answering the gay issue. he really has matured in dealing with press and interviews. let’s all watch Hannah Montana episode tonight and enjoy it.

Katheryn | May 3, 2009 at 7:34 pm

Thanks, joyanne. If Disney has checked out any of the posts on some of the YouTube videos, then they’ll know how many D.A. fans feel. (One of my favorites says somthing like, “Wasn’t it David who invited Hannah to sing a duet with him and not the other way around?”) Large corporations like ABC (which owns Disney) do not easily get their feelings hurt I can guarantee you. In fact, successful corporation will generally take such feedback seriously, as long as it’s not offensive in nature. Do I think Disney will modify the final version for iTunes? Probably not at this point; however, it was worth a try.

Katheryn | May 4, 2009 at 12:32 am

Okay, it’s time to bring the fun back! This fantastic performance of “Zero Gravity” from Ipswich will surely do that:

pete | May 4, 2009 at 1:15 am

David is far to great a talent to be involved with Disney. None of their performers even come close to the vocal abilities of David Archuleta. He is a prodigy and they are not. His career will not be defined by being a Disney entertainer but by being the best pop/soul singer for his generation and future generations. Don’t worry about upsetting Disney. David will do just fine without them.

lyn | May 4, 2009 at 1:46 am

Katheryn, thanks for the video of David performing ZG!!WOWWWW!!!The jumping, turning and running are AMAZINGGG!!He’s more grown up and confident!!That was really FUN!!The BAND are the BEST!!BTW,I didn’t watch HM, but my daughter did. I’ll rather watch David’s concerts in UK!!Now, I’m HAPPY!!!lol!

PATRICIA HUNT | May 4, 2009 at 7:51 am

Thank you Katheryn for the Zero Gravity video, I love it when David seems sooooo happy.Something special about David being happy makes all of us feel the same way.

Good Day Angels,

idid some lurking yesterday rather than posting and today I just need to say the following.

We heard David say that music is his passion and that it’s what he wants to do for life. We may have all assumed that of him, but know we know for sure. Angels, the last thing I want to do is derail David in any way.

People keep saying that we will be David undoing just as the Claymates were for Clay. (Though those insiders say Clay was his own worst enemy) Angels we must carefully measure what we say and to whom it is said. We must not forget that we are here to SUPPORT David. He has a label for his music and a management team that includes his father for his appearances.

Yes, we can offer feedback on things but we cannot presume to tell these people who have been defined as some of the best in the industry how to handle David James. David’s father has been by his side since he started on this fantatic voyage and I’m sure Jeff would not allow anything untoward to happen to his son’s career. I’m sure Jeff knows what this means to David and how hard he has worked to get to where he finds himself.

Can we please not do anything to cause David harm. Can we, please? David and his team are on the inside, they see and hear what we don’t and never will. Let us learn from ALTNOY that Jive is controlling David’s music.

Okay another thing that came up over the weekend was how to get David back up on the xRANK list. I suppose the UK Tour is slowing our searches. So let’s hit xRANK SEARCH HARD. Any ???

One other thing I would like to comment on. The tidbit from Melodi; these people I would guess are press people or media. Azoff had to agree to the interview. In most cases like this, questions are furnished to the artist before they are interviewed just so they aren’t unduly surprised. The media is the media, it is their job to ask questions even controvertial ones even to “Our Darlin’”. Don’t blame them for asking a question that has been hanging around for ages. If this puts an end to the matter, then let us all applaud Melodi for their guts.

Angels, let’s all have a great day SUPPORTING Our Beloved, while leaving the business of his career choices to those who get paid to do just that.

Now because I love you all noone should feel offended by any of my comments and because we all love David, I know noone will be offended. Let’s get to xRANK and do those searches. ??? xRank Search… contact me if you need to at kacopia@aol.com

*Of course we all extend our condolences to the Cook family on the loss of Adam.

When is this song going on Itunes?

Katheryn | May 4, 2009 at 10:25 am

The interview David did with Melodi TV was just one of many he did that day. (As you can see in the interview, he is wearing the traditional Malaysian male attire, and this is the press conference set up by Sony.) I’d be shocked if anyone interviewing David in the past year has provided him with a list of the questions they were going to ask prior to the actual interview. Perhaps a few A-list Hollywood movie stars insist on it, but even then it’s very rare indeed. Given that I’m 100% certain David had no idea specifically what questions this interviewer or any other interviewer on that day were going to ask him, I think he handled the situation with utmost class and maturity.

pete | May 4, 2009 at 10:32 am

I for one am concerned about David’s management team. David was on the no.1 TV show in america and seen all over the world. His album will go Platinum soon. Crush is almost double Platinum. His solo tour was 95% sold out. His fan base is made up of all ages. Why is David touring with Demi Lovato as an opening act? Her fan base are little kids but certainly not adults. If his management booked this tour as the Lovato/Archuleta tour or visa versa. His management should not have allowed the release of “I wanna know you” with David’s part cut out. I can understand David being the opening act for McFly in the UK because he is not as known there. He will be equal billing with David Cook in Manila. I do not want to see David become an entertainer who caters to little kids only. He is an accomplished vocalist and a prodigy. David will succeed on talent and doesn’t need to sell out to become a kiddie star. I do not want to see him type cast and that will happen with what his management team is doing with him (ie: Hanna Montana show?, iCarlie show? Demi Lovato Tour? And now a back up singer for Miley Cyrus, even though it is billed as a duet.) I want David to be successful as a Pop/soul singer which is what he said that he wanted. Allow him to grow into what he wants. He should have continued his solo tour. Being an Artist and building a long lasting fan base is more important than becoming an instant star and especially a teeny bopper star. With a few exceptions, most teeny bopper stars careers are over when the kids no longer are interested. I have to respectfully disagree with Maxi2go and David’s management team. I will always support David because of who he is and his talent.

I came back in to ask you guys about XM voting. I think they do the countdowns every 3 hours but during the countdowns is voting blocked and how long does it take to do the countdown?

Pete: I’m not a part of David’s team I’m just a supporter of the man’s. But what I would say to you again is to let David’s teams do what they do. Everyone thinks that David’s fan base is most teens, ignoring the fact that his fan base is in fact the most diverse of any. With the industry saying one thing about his fans I can certainly see where they’d cater to the teen market. But teens grow up along wth the artist. As long as his fans stay true to him there should be no problem. I think the biggest threat to David is AI. When we say that David is the best person to come out of Idol why watch any longer and get sucked into someone else. When you invest time into rooting for someone or voting for them on a weekly basis you become terribly invested int them and in the music industry, you simply cannot honestly serve two artists. That’s why David is the only person I support with my votes, my requests, my time and my money.

But we must not forget that David has to do a lot of work no matter what we think of him and his talents. He still has to prove himself in the industry. And that takes the right backing and loads of money. We had a dissertation in why tyros like the IDOls don’t make it in the business. David needs to make money no matter how much he doesn’t care for it. He needs it. Videos alone can cost upward of 350K each. Ever wondered why you don’t see them much. That why, they are very pricey.

Look guys, I have said myself, Jive doesn’t seem to be doing their best for David. (and indeed they did not promo ALTNOU, but we know why) but still they have been called the best for David. And unless the sell David contract we need to just allow them to do what they do. And we all know Azoff is an award winning mgmt group. And Jeff and Lupe would never do anything they thought would hurt their child’s future. I know it hard to take sometimes, but we have to…gosh, you guys have no idea how hard it is for me who loves to call people on the carpet to keep my mouth shut, but I have to. I just couldn’t live with myself if David couldn’t live his dream and have the career he worked sooooo hard for because of something I said to Jive. Or printed in a site. David deserves the best chance afforded to him and I have no right to impede his progress. Now I’ll go into a cubbyhole and bawl.

Maxie2go #24- XM 20 on 20 does it’s countdown every three hours, 3,6,9.and 12. The twenty countdown usually last about an hour and fifteen minutes. While the countdown is on you can’t vote. Ater the countdown and before the next countdown you can call and make your request. You know , I’m sure that you can vote every 5 mins. online, anytime. The toll free number is 1-866-553-2020. Leave a message and press pond key when you’re done. If you call around twenty five minutes after the countdown you may get the D.J. They don’t ask if you have sirrius satelite radio, by the way.

supergrandjudie | May 4, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Sorry, I meant pound key.

Linda | May 4, 2009 at 2:52 pm

Maxie2go, thank you for your comments. I truley agree with you. By the way has any one asked David lately about how he feels his carrer is going. I think that if David is happy and then so am i. Lets not spoil it for him. Give the man a chance to get his singing career going. I think sometimes we are asking too much of him. YES! sometimes things won’t go as we would want it too because we want the best for him. I agree with maxie2 that azoff and his parents want the best for him. Remember they are investing alot on David or else they wouln’t be sending him all over the world on tours. Thank you all for letting me comment. Love my fansite. IT IS SO NICE TO BE ABLE TO COMMENT AND EVERYONE LISTENS EVEN IF THEY DON’T AGREE. THANKS GUYS.

Thank you Linda for easing us. I know it gets hard when things we want for David don’t seem to be happening. But Rome wasn’t built in a day. I truly do want to support all that David has to do. He works so hard. I often worry about his health,(remember from the Summer tour when MCL said he was exhausted, yet he kept working) So he will now as well. And please let’s not complain about his going to Alaska, We didn’t seem to mind his going to Asia or the UK. So why his fellow countrymen? Come on guys, let’s love him Up. Okay and please please keep him in prayer. He and his band. Now I’m going to watch CRUSH from Ipswich…I heard it a great view. I love you guys.

Hi Archies,

I love David and I never knew he was funny until I saw him on the Hanna Montana Show. I mean he could be a good actor and he is funny. I love the cute little disney duet he did with her. But he is alot musicially more talented…so…it was a little bizarre for me to see him with her…oh well! Music is music and it speaks for the times. And I am sure David had alot of fun being around someone close to his age. Kisses from Chicago~Sophia~

Katheryn | May 4, 2009 at 11:00 pm

#25 supergrandjudie: Perhaps XM Radio isn’t counting my votes, but I frequently call in while they are doing a countdown, and I still get the recording asking me to leave a message with my song selection and then hit the “#” key. I’ve always assumed they apply those votes towards the next countdown. Sometimes, especially during the week, I’m only able to vote at such times. I’m going to continue to vote at these times, since I can’t imagine they would have the recording on asking for our votes only to turn around and throw them out. Have the DJ’s said something on air telling us that those votes don’t count? Why would they allow online votes but not those called in during such times?

One other question that I’ve been wondering about: do they do countdowns after midnight? Sometimes when I’m up late on the computer I’ll continue voting well past midnight, thinking those votes will count towards a 3:00 a.m. countdown, or at the very least towards a countdown later in the day. Does anyone have an answer to this? (I don’t get satellite radio, so I’ve never actually heard the countdown!)

Katheryn | May 4, 2009 at 11:28 pm

#23 Pete — I think many adult fans of David share your concerns. I’ve seen these concerns expressed most eloquently at the The David Chronicals (a fan site geared towards adult fans and formerly known as Noting David). Personally, I’m okay with the route David’s career is taking at this time, and I don’t think it will hurt him down the line. David does not and will not have embedded ties to Disney, so I’m not worried about the Disney label being slapped on him.

Two of Jive’s biggest stars (though not necessarily the most talented ones) are former Mouseketeers, namely Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake In addition, JC Chasez (of ‘N Sync fame like Justin Timberlake), who co-wrote “Don’t Let Go” with David, was also a Mouseketeer. Christina Aguilera is the other Mouseketeer of note to come out of Disney during this time frame. My reason for bringing up all these other artists is to show that even their major associations with Disney did not prove to be a hindrance to their careers, and no doubt helped to facilitate them.

Here’s the link to the website I mentioned above. However, if you take a liking to that site, please keep on posting here at FanBlast too! I like the fact that this website has fans of all ages.

Pete:

I read your comment again and you may be underestimating David but you seem to be forgetting that his support goes beyond teens. That’s what the press is sayiing but you know it isn’t true.

Any why can’t David explore all facets of himself music and entertainment wise? David has said that his next album will be soulful. How many soulful disney kids do you know?

David can’t win not even with his own fans it seems. Simon wanted to typecast him as a stand in one spot crooner. And now we are arguing that he will be cast as a teenybooper when you know he isn’t. David has hardly had time to concentrate since he left AI; he may not even know what what course he wants to follow. David has so much untapped potential it’s not even funny.

He ahs teen fans, so let him reach out to them. He has boomer fans, and male fans, White, Black and Yellow fans. This young man is so eclectic and so good for music. But we should never think that David is naive when it comes to music. And I will tell you again, right now it’s about money. I don’t understand where all the love we had for Azoff seems to have gone. I, for one, will just sit back and let them do what they do. I have heard nothing to the contrary about azoff or Jive for that matter.

Thank you Palm to heart. You took the words right out of my mouth. Well said.

pete | May 6, 2009 at 6:38 pm

Palm to Heart.

I am 100% behind David. He is everything you say he is and his sucessful future in music is undeniable. I want him to become whatever he wants to be and I was just concerned that his choices might type cast him with other less talented singers whoes careers may or may not be long lasting. I hope that David’s next album will cater to everyone. I just didn’t like what Disney did to the duet(cutting David out), and I felt that Jive could have rectified the situation, but maybe I am wrong. I am going to the concert in San Jose but only to see David and I was hoping he would sing more than seven songs but that is unlikely as an opening act. Such is life. I will always support David and any other singer with his kind of vocal proficiency.

Pete:

The thing is, none of us know the wording on the contract. Or the deal that was struck. David doesn’t complain about anything and while I haven’t been in FOD lately, I haven’t heard anyone saying that Richard said David or Jeff isn’t happy with the final cut.

Here again, I must say, let David’s label and management handle these matters. ANd Pete, I really don’t think David will be typecast as a Disney kid. He’s way to talented for that.

I’m worried about why David is listed at # 302 on xRank. I know we’re doing our daily searches so I just don’t get it.

Katheryn | May 6, 2009 at 11:45 pm

maxie2go: It’s a little before 9:00 p.m. PT on Wednesday, and David is currently #47 on xRank. I’m thinking MSN lumps in articles and blogs with Live Searches to come up with their rankings. If that’s the case, then it makes sense that David has slipped a bit since he is overseas and we are not getting as many stories on him at this time.

maxie2go | May 8, 2009 at 1:21 am

Thanks Kath…I’m just stunned beyond belief that David has dropped to #373. And MSN keeps saying they use nothing other than the searches to compile the rankings. If that is true then we have dropped this ball terribly. Something is distracting us from having David’s back.

Whether it’s the videos from the UK or the ending of AI8, we all virtually pledged to support David and now look at his support. He has one Buzz poll up in PCB Polls as of yesterday. And the new Tiger Beat poll could use our help as well as other things.

Come on guys, are you planning to trade David in for a newer Idol? If you aren’t then why waste your time. Please post in other site to encourage those members to do their daily David work. :( David is over there sweating to please us and we’re here dropping the ball.
