“Thousands enjoy annual Brut Sun Bowl Game”

David Burge from the El Paso Times wrote up a quick article on the Sun Bowl where he mentions David!
EL PASO — For football fans, the annual Brut Sun Bowl game is so much more than just another game. It’s the event of the year and a great way to kick off their New Year’s Eve celebrations, they said.
By 8 a.m. Thursday, the University of Texas at El Paso was playing host to thousands of football fans.
Fans started to arrive as early as Wednesday afternoon to camp out near the Sun Bowl stadium. Others began to arrive at 6 a.m. Thursday to start partying before the noon kickoff.
The game between Oklahoma and Stanford sold out on Dec. 22, marking the earliest sellout in the 76-year history of the event.
Adding to the fun was the halftime show by pop star David Archuleta, runner-up from last year’s “American Idol” show. About 350 lucky teenagers and children got to go down on the field for his performance.

Janel…I watched that video on youtube…and according to the owner of the video, the boos were meant for the security guards who didn’t want the fans to go down closer to where David was performing during the halftime!!I hope it was not for David! Maybe the security was so tight!!And I didn’t understand either why CBS didn’t even show any of his performances on TV!

Why were only teenagers and children allowed to go down! That’s no fair!
On Youtube I found someone who recorded his performances (The song from Journey, Crush and the National Anthem/God Bless America). While singing Crush, about 1/3 way in the crowd all the sudden boos. I’m thinking since they didn’t boo David the rest of the time something else happened to cause the boos. Does anyone know?
